Police Blotter: Driver Etiquette, Let That Raccoon Go, Mailbox Fireworks

Selected calls to the Woodbury Public Safety Department from June 28 through July 3.

The following information was obtained from recent police reports. Police were called about three unattended children in an SUV in a parking lot at the 8200 block of Tamarack Village. Officers discussed safety concerns with the driver. A road rage incident broke out after one driver nearly hit another while speeding through the parking lot near the Steepery. The two motorists headed eastbound on Tamarack Road, and the caller said the other driver flipped her off. When they arrived at a stoplight, the other driver, a man, told her: “You little (expletive), why don’t you learn to drive, (expletive)?” She then said to him: “Why don’t you learn to drive?” That was the extent of the incident. Woodbury PD Blotter: Mustard Missing, Facebook Fight, Raccoon Roundup

Selected calls to the Woodbury Police Department from Oct. 20-25.

The following information was obtained from recent police reports. A man who lives at the 6700 block of Buckingham Bay contacted police after two doses of methadone were stolen from his car. A Blackberry was reported stolen from a home at the 600 block of Woodduck Drive. A Slumberland Furniture employee was seen on surveillance video breaking into a vending machine at the store after the machine’s owner noticed it was short on money for the past several months. The man no longer works at the store. The machine’s owner requested assistance in impressing upon the subject that he needs to “change his ways,” according to the report. A woman who was suspected of shoplifting nearly $250 worth of items at Rainbow Foods resisted arrest and was …

Woodbury PD Blotter: Football Fight, Theft, Sick Raccoon, ATV Complaint

Woodbury police responded to a wide array of calls from Sept. 22-27.

The following information was obtained from recent police reports. A stolen vehicle belonging to a Wadena, MN, resident was found parked between Taco Bell and Savers on Sept. 22. The 1995 Chevy pickup had been there for several days. The keys were in the ignition. Police on Sept. 23 ran the license plate of a vehicle parked in a lot at the 1500 block of Woodlane Drive and found that one of the occupants had a lengthy criminal history and had warrants out for his arrest. He was arrested and booked at the Washington County Jail. A car that was making odd turns and driving around without an apparent destination was pulled over on Sept. 23 and officers found the driver in possession of salvia (an illegal substance) and tools used for burglary…

Woodbury PD Blotter: July 8-13

Lightning strike, loose horse, light bulbs stolen (again) and other recent calls to Woodbury police.

A few housekeeping items to start in this week’s Woodbury police blotter. First, a home at the 10900 block of Bentwater Lane was struck by lightning on July 11. The Woodbury Fire Department responded a little before 1 a.m., but there was no fire, according to Cmdr. John Wallgren. A neighbor told Patch the home had tarps over the spot where it was hit, and other homes in the Dancing Waters neighborhood may have been struck by lightning as well. Wallgren said he heard of at least one other strike, but nothing substantial was hit. Next, Patch recently reported on light bulbs being stolen from homes along the 1600-1700 blocks of Spinaker Drive in Woodbury. One of the homeowners interviewed for that story had light bulbs stolen again recently—…

Woodbury PD Blotter: April 28-May 3

Police recently responded to calls of threats, road rage, coyotes, a raccoon in a kitchen and an injured squirrel.

The following information was obtained from recent police reports. Public Works officials and a lawn-care worker found a bloody knife lying on the ground near the intersection of Tamarack Road and Spring Hill Drive on April 28. There was some rust and dirt on the knife, but there may have been a bloodstain near the handle. A resident who had parked her car at Salem Lutheran Church called police on April 28 after noticing that someone had tried to steal her vehicle’s catalytic converter. She heard loud noises coming from her engine and spotted saw marks at the exhaust system. A resident who was at Carver Lake Beach on April 28 called police to report the sound of gunshots in the area, possibly a .22 caliber weapon. Police checked the area …

Woodbury Police Blotter: Feb. 17-23

Police recently responded to Girl Scout cookies stolen from a vehicle parked at the Woodbury movie theater, among other calls.

 The following information was obtained from recent police reports. A resident at the 2400 block of Golf Drive called police on Feb. 17 to report that a $150 GPS and cell phone charger valued at $30 were stolen from a vehicle parked in his garage. Police were called to the 2300 block of Golf Drive on Feb. 17 after neighbors said a man in a hooded sweatshirt tried to open a garage door. One resident made eye contact with the man, who then took off running. Police could not locate the individual but discussed crime prevention with nearby residents. Police were called to the 2100 block of Hemlock Boulevard after a vehicle had a window smashed and a GPS taken from it. A $350 cell phone was reported stolen from the Sprint store on Hudson Road …
