Update: 2:04 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 28 The woman who was home at the time of the burglary said she was scared but ready to act if she came across the perpetrators. Tashney Seiger, 18, said she came downstairs after showering and noticed it was cold. A back patio door was open and the drapes were blowing into the home, at the 600 block of Eagle Ridge Road. She said she went to get her keys—she has a mace canister attached to them—and noticed her wallet was out of her purse. “I was just in panic mode,” Seiger said. “I was ready to punch anyone that came near me.” The thieves got away with either $6 or $11, she said. “I’m not sure if I had two fives or one,” Seiger said, adding that nothing else was missing. Danielle Jelinek has been missing since Dec. 9. Multiple search teams have sought clues to her disappearance. The latest search involved dive teams at Bone Lake.
Investigators have taken their search to the water for a missing Oakdale woman who was last seen on Dec. 8, according to recent news reports. A Washington County dive team on Sunday searched for Danielle Jelinek in Bone Lake, which is near where she was last seen, CBS Minnesota is reporting. Bone Lake is located south of Chisago and between Forest Lake and Scandia. Authorities told CBS Minnesota on Monday that they found no trace of Jelinek during their search. Investigators will continue to pursue other possible leads. Jelinek, 27 was reported missing on Dec. 9. She was reportedly with her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Aaron Schnagl, on Dec. 8. Friends and family of Danielle Jelinek are asking for help to post flyers of her disappearance in the area she was last seen. Jelinek, 27, was reported missing Dec. 9. She was last seen at her on-again, off-again boyfriend's house in Chisago Lake Township. Since her disappearance, Aaron Schnagl—who was the last to see Jelinek—has been named a person of interest in the case. Several upcoming meetings will be held as South Washington Schools looks for a replacement for Mark Porter.
District 833 officials on Tuesday will hear from a slate of candidates as the district looks to find a replacement for outgoing Superintendent Mark Porter. The South Washington County School Board will meet for a special meeting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1, at the District Service Center in Cottage Grove to hear the slate of superintendent candidates culled from the search committee, School Exec Connect, according to a release from District 833. The board will also hold a special meeting beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 5, at the service center in Cottage Grove to conduct first-round interviews of superintendent candidates. The Stillwater Area School District acted as quick as possible to notify parents of the police situation near the school, a District 834 official said.
Oak-Land Junior High in Lake Elmo was on lockdown this morning, Jan. 11, as authorities searched for theft suspects in the area. Parents of students at the junior high school were first notified of the lockdown just before 8 a.m. this morning, said Dennis Bloom, the director of operations for the Stillwater Area School District. The notification was then sent out district-wide at about 8:20 a.m. The notification read: “Attention Parents, Oak-Land Junior High School is currently in a Preventitive (sic) Lockdown. All students are in their first hour and safe. Washington County is on site and monitoring outside. No threat is in the building.
