Selected calls to the Woodbury Public Safety Department from Jan. 29 through Feb. 4.
The following information was obtained from recent police reports. A burning smell reported at LeeAnn Chin was possibly a burned transformer, but not a fire. Police were called about a likely theft at SuperAmerica. A woman came in and pre-paid for $5 worth of gas, then milled around in the store for about 15 minutes. When she left, she yelled out to an older woman at the car, “Mom, I hope you pre-paid.” Employees later learned she had stolen a bag of dog food. She may have also stolen a lighter, candy and trinkets. Officers advised workers and a customer at Car Care that a dispute over a vehicle was a civil issue. David Beebe was one of many Twin Cities residents out helping clear the U of M's TCF Bank Stadium in preparation for the Vikings-Bears game.
David Beebe, of Woodbury, traded his shovel for a cigarette during a quick break Friday morning outside TCF Bank Stadium on the University of Minnesota campus. Beebe was one of a select few shovelers to return to campus Friday from among the 700 or so workers who began clearing snow at the stadium Thursday in preparation for Monday night's Minnesota Vikings game against the Chicago Bears. "I've been here 10 hours already," Beebe said, counting the seven and a half hours he worked Thursday. "I'll be here the rest of the day." Beebe said he was earning $10 per hour from Team Personnel, a temp agency. He got a ride with a friend from Woodbury whose shoveling job also continued today. Woodbury police also responded to several calls of recent vehicle break-ins.
The following information was obtained from recent police reports. Police were called to the 6400 block of Lake Road Terrace on Dec. 9 on a report that a woman's 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse had been stolen. She left it running while she went into Super America, and came outside to find it gone. Police later discovered that a vehicle stolen in St. Paul had been left nearby. The case is under investigation. A window was smashed out of a 2008 Nissan Quest on the 7200 block of Guider Drive on Dec. 9 and several items were stolen from the vehicle, including a rug valued at $700, several DVDs and CDs, and a GPS. That same day police also received a call that a 1993 Plymouth minivan had been broken into at the same address. A CD player valued at $100…
