Major Decisions on Bielenberg Sports Center Expansion: Woodbury Council Preview

The Woodbury City Council meets at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at City Hall.

Woodbury on Wednesday could take a big step toward a new Bielenberg Sports Center. Or three, to be exact. The City Council is set to consider three measures that would move the $21.8 million project forward. The city plans to raze the aging dome this April and start construction on a new field house and lobby. Specifically, the council is expected to vote on: The city over the past several months has refined its plans for the 120,054-square-foot expansion project, which will not require the city to raise taxes. The project also includes $500,000 in improvements to the two existing rinks, along with a third sheet of outdoor ice geared toward pleasure skating.
