The following information was obtained from recent police reports. A loose horse at Hilton Avenue South and Military Road had been corralled by the time police arrived. A resident called police about an increased number of broken bottles along city paths near Ojibway Park. People seen concealing items at Cub Foods, apparently in preparation for a theft, were issued trespass notices. Woodbury police were tipped about two warrant suspects at the Red Roof Inn. Officers pulled them over and arrested the individuals, one of whom was wanted for domestic assault and the other for drug possession. Police Blotter: Crosswalk Clash, Pedi Problem, Malibooty Call

Selected calls to the Woodbury Police Department from May 31 through June 4.

The following information was obtained from recent police reports. A GPS was reported stolen from a car in an underground garage at the 1500 block of Parkwood Drive. A man who was crying and upset stopped into the Public Safety Department to ask for advice about text messages he was receiving from his ex. A resident at the 400 block of Woodduck Place told police she had a good suspect after a gun safe was stolen from her home. It had a .38 caliber revolver in it. Police were called to Ocean Nails after a woman refused to pay for a $75 pedicure. She told employees she had problems with a previous pedicure and also wanted a refund on a lost gift certificate. Woodbury PD Blotter: Hair-raising Experience, ‘Choice Words’ For Officers, Sexting Slip-up

Selected calls to the Woodbury Police Department from Dec. 29 through Jan. 2.

The following information was obtained from recent police reports. Woodbury police assisted Ramsey County narcotics agents during the execution of a search warrant at the 6100 block of Upper Afton Road that uncovered cocaine, steroids and marijuana at the home. Two subjects were arrested and booked at the Washington County Jail. An employee at Walmart sold tobacco to an underage individual during a compliance check. An unusually high number of Woodbury businesses failed recent alcohol- and tobacco-compliance checks. A resident at the 7200 block of Guider Drive told police that his vehicle, parked in an underground garage, had been rummaged through. I know one company who takes these violations very seriously. Training before they ring a register, given a copy of the tobacco laws for the state of MN and given training every six months on top of that. If the associate does sell to a minor, it is automatic termination for that associate. The associates know this from the beginning of employment.   more ›

Woodbury PD Blotter: Mustard Missing, Facebook Fight, Raccoon Roundup

The following information was obtained from recent police reports. A man who lives at the 6700 block of Buckingham Bay contacted police after two doses of methadone were stolen from his car. A Blackberry was reported stolen from a home at the 600 block of Woodduck Drive. A Slumberland Furniture employee was seen on surveillance video breaking into a vending machine at the store after the machine’s owner noticed it was short on money for the past several months. The man no longer works at the store. The machine’s owner requested assistance in impressing upon the subject that he needs to “change his ways,” according to the report. Woodbury PD Blotter: Sept. 9-13

Man confronted by two armed people, complaints about music during East Ridge football games, theft and other recent calls to Woodbury police.

The following information was obtained from recent police reports. A student who brought a small baggie of marijuana to Woodbury Middle School on Sept. 9 said he found the drugs at Potawatomi Park and was told to write a two-and-a-half page paper on marijuana and its effects. The marijuana was destroyed and he was released to his mother. A man stole about $500 worth of merchandise from Wal-Mart and sped off in his vehicle on Sept. 9, and left his wife and children at the store. Police spoke with the woman, who told them of his whereabouts. A fight over a parking space broke out at Throwbacks Grille and Bar on Sept. 9. An individual who was punched in the face requested no police action. A 1995 Honda Accord was reported stolen from the 6900…

Woodbury PD Blotter: Aug. 5-10

Break-ins, possible drug activity, missing dog among recent calls to Woodbury police.

The following information was obtained from recent police reports. A Woodbury resident called police on Aug. 5 to report that he suspected his neighbors of cooking methamphetamine. He told police he smells a foul odor at about 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. each day, and there is a lot of short-term traffic at the home. The smell is “halfway between fish and cat urine.” He told authorities he would keep a log of vehicles. (The address was redacted from the report.) A resident at the 400 block of Woodduck Place called police on Aug. 5 to ask for help finding her escaped chinchilla. An officer found it under a nearby tree and returned the animal to its owner. Woodbury PD Blotter: June 24-29

Several incidents of homes and cars hit with paintballs recently.

The following information was obtained from recent police reports. A laptop computer, digital camera and GPS device were reported stolen from a vehicle parked at the 2100 block of Woodcrest Drive on June 24. The owner said she believed she locked the car but there was no sign of forced entry. Residents at the 2100 block of Woodcrest Drive ran off some suspicious juveniles on June 24 and later learned that two cars parked the area had been broken into and had items stolen from them. A resident at the 2500 block of Eyrie Drive called police on June 24 after a small bird ran into her garage door and appeared to have injured its leg. An officer contained the bird and transported it to Powers Lake Park, where the animal was able to move around …

Police responded to several reports of vehicle break-ins at Cascade Plaza recently.

The following information was obtained from recent police reports. A car radio was reported stolen from a vehicle parked at the 1100 block of Cedarwood Drive on June 17. A 2010 Ford Taurus was reported stolen from the driveway of a home at the 2300 block of Carlsbad Plaza on June 17. A set of keys was reported stolen from a vehicle at the 2300 block of Cascade Plaza South on June 17. Police were called to Francesca's Collections on June 17 after employees there planned to confront a worker suspected of theft. The individual was cited. A rear window of a vehicle parked at the Woodbury Lifetime Fitness was broken and a gym bag was reported stolen on June 17. Checks that were in the bag were passed at Minneapolis banks for a total of $975. …

Snapshot: Light Bulbs Stolen From Woodbury Homes

Police suspect juveniles are taking light bulbs from homes and breaking them because “the bulbs make a popping sound.”

It’s not the biggest crime in the world, but in the words of one Woodbury resident, it is a bit odd. In recent weeks outdoor light bulbs have been stolen from homes along Spinaker Drive in Woodbury, mostly around the 1600-1700 blocks. Cathy Stevenson, out walking her dog in the neighborhood on Tuesday, told Patch that she has had light bulbs stolen twice—once during winter and again a few weeks ago. Her husband didn’t call police after the first incident, but did the second time it happened. “They’re not taking all five, just the ones that aren’t near the windows,” she said.
