Dozens Cited for Winter-Parking Violations in Woodbury

The city’s rules run from Nov. 1 through April 1.

More than 30 vehicles were cited for violating the city’s winter-parking rules over the past six days, according to police reports. Between Nov. 1 and April 1, on-street parking is prohibited between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. The ordinance is in place to make snow removal more efficient. Also, on-street parking is prohibited any time two or more inches of snow have accumulated. This is in effect until the street has been completely plowed. Winter Parking Regulations for Woodbury Now in Effect

The rules run from Nov. 1 to April 1.

Forecasts called for a slight chance of snow in Woodbury on Friday night, but even if the flakes hold off, residents should know the city’s winter parking restrictions are now in effect.  Between Nov. 1 and April 1, on-street parking is prohibited between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m., even if there's no snow.  Also, on-street parking is prohibited any time two or more inches of snow have accumulated. This is in effect until the street has been completely plowed. The two-inch guideline applies to any hour of the day and any time of the year. The winter parking ordinance does not apply to private streets (marked with a blue street sign), only to public roadways. Also, on-street parking is prohibited any time two or more inches of snow have accumulated. This is in effect until the street has been completely plowed. A number of Woodbury vehicles were recently hit with administrative citations for violating the city's policy on winter parking. About 25 tickets were handed out over a three-day period this week.
