Olive Branch Oil and Spice Company Coming to Woodbury Lakes

Its White Bear Lake location offers more than 50 types of olive oil and vinegar.

A store specializing in olive oil and vinegar is coming to Woodbury Lakes. The Olive Branch Oil and Spice Company plans to open a new shop at Woodbury Lakes, behind American Eagle, according to Laurie Mordorski, marketing director for the shopping center. The goal is to open around July 1, said owner Bruce Bushey, who does competitive grilling and owns the store with his wife, a former home economics teacher. The Olive Branch has an existing store in White Bear Lake, and the Woodbury location will be basically the same, Bushey said. It offers more than 50 types of olive oil and vinegar, all bottled daily. Osaka Now Open at Woodbury Lakes

The Japanese restaurant features a sushi bar and a dozen hibachi tables.

Osaka Sushi and Hibachi is now open at Woodbury Lakes. Located near the Tamarack Road entrance to Woodbury Lakes, the restaurant opened Tuesday, May 7. It’s at 9000 Hudson Road, suite 622. Behind the main restaurant area of Osaka, formerly Kenichi Japanese and Sushi, are 12 hibachi tables in a large open room. People don’t need reservations to see the show from the teppanyaki chefs, but they are recommended, Lin said. There is also a sushi bar, and Osaka has a full liquor selection. The menu is listed on its website. The patio space will likely be utilized within a few weeks, Lin said. The Woodbury location is the eighth in Minnesota for Osaka. What's Open, Closed on Presidents Day in Woodbury

Ask any parent and they'll let you know that school's closed (again). But what else has the "day off" in Woodbury today?

Here are a few spots that are open (or closed) on Presidents Day in Woodbury. If you know of a place that’s open or closed, let us know in the comments section. Cub Foods Cub Foods will be open as usual this morning but don't count on using the bank or post office services inside. Sola Salon Studios to Open at Woodbury Lakes

The company features individual studios run by stylists.

Woodbury Lakes on Thursday announced that Sola Salon Studios is set to open at the outdoor mall early this summer. Sola Salon uses a “salon suite business model,” giving stylists the freedom to operate their own business, according to a release. At Woodbury Lakes, it will be located in a building facing Interstate 94 and feature 36 single studios ranging from 100 to 200 square feet, the release says. “Studios will be occupied by stylists, estheticians, nail technicians, massage therapists and other beauty professionals each operating independently licensed businesses,” reads the release. “Salon suite owners will have the ability to customize their space with distinct personal touches—including paint color, furniture, pictures, music and …

Knox Jewelers Now Open at Woodbury Lakes

The grand opening is set for Feb. 5.

A new jewelry store boasting products designed and manufactured in Minnesota is now open at Woodbury Lakes. Knox Jewelers was getting things ready for a soft opening the morning of Tuesday, Jan. 29. The grand opening set for Feb. 5, said Ryan Knox, owner. It’s the second store for Knox Jewelers, following its Minneapolis location, where the products are created. “We make and design everything we sell,” Knox said. “Our product is what really stands us apart. … You’re not going to find our products at any other jewelry store.” Most jewelry stores buy items from overseas, Knox said. “They’re worried about one thing—that’s keeping costs down,” he said. “My company’s not like that.” Knox Jewelers focuses on wedding and engagement rings, Knox …

Kay Jewelers on the Move in Woodbury

The jewelry store is moving from Woodbury Lakes to the former Creative Kidstuff space.

Kay Jewelers is moving from Woodbury Lakes to the space vacated by the closure of Creative Kidstuff. Laurie Mordorski, marketing director at Woodbury Lakes, confirmed it was moving. Construction is underway at the location, between Ficocello's and Pearl Vision, at 7150 Valley Creek Plaza, near Marshall's. The jewelry store plans to open March 5, according to Frank Cirillo, a public relations official with Sterling Jewelers, whose brands include Kay, Jared the Galleria of Jewelry, Osterman Jewelers and others. Kay Jewelers has 13 other locations in Minnesota, and sells jewelry for men and women. In Woodbury, Cheers Pablo, Osaka, Sheraton, Pei Wei Secure Liquor Licenses

The Woodbury City Council unanimously approved all four during Wednesday night’s meeting.

Cheers Pablo, a new Woodbury art studio that will teach classes to groups—and serve food and wine—is set to open before Valentine’s Day, the owner told Patch. It will open at 8362 Tamarack Village, next door to LensCrafters. Cheers Pablo CEO John Bedard, who lives in Woodbury, was on hand with his wife Chriscell for the City Council’s approval of a liquor license for the establishment. (The council approved three other licenses, as well.) “There is a real need for it in the community and we hope to inspire a lot of people,” Bedard said in December.        Related: Cheers! New Children’s Clothing Store Opens at Woodbury Lakes

Crazy 8 opened Wednesday; new restaurant, jewelry store still on the horizon.

Woodbury Lakes on Wednesday announced that Crazy 8 has opened for business. Crazy 8, the newest addition to the Gymboree Corporation’s family of brands, offers clothing for girls and boys, sizes 0 to 14. The first Crazy 8 store opened in August 2007, according to a release from Woodbury Lakes, and the Gymboree Corporation currently operates more than 220 Crazy 8 stores in the U.S. Meanwhile, Osaka Seafood and Steakhouse is set to open its sixth Twin Cities location at Woodbury Lakes this winter. Osaka will open at the Kenichi Japanese and Sushi space. Osaka will also feature some patio space and will be expanding, as well.
