Zach Sobiech Dies of Bone Cancer

Zach Sobiech, the teen who was known for his song "Clouds," has died of bone cancer. He was a senior at Stillwater Area High School.

Stillwater Area High School senior Zach Sobiech from Lakeland, has died of bone cancer, according to reports from KARE 11 and the Pioneer Press. The teen was known for his song "Clouds," which went viral on YouTube in November. From the KARE 11 piece: Zach was just 17 when he passed away, his body too frail to continue. His mother Laura posted a simple message on his CaringBridge site. It reads: "Zachary passed away this morning. He was surrounded by his sisters, brother, parents and girlfriend. We love him dearly." Zach Sobiech Will Perform at Benefit Concert Feb. 16 at the Varsity Theater

The event will benefit the Zach Sobiech Osteosarcoma Fund. His girlfriend is from Woodbury.

Singer Zach Sobiech will perform during a benefit concert Feb. 16 at the Varsity Theater in Minneapolis. Rock the Cause, KS95, Children's Cancer Research Fund and the Varsity Theater recently announced that they will host "Up, Up, Up. A Concert for Zach," benefiting the Zach Sobiech Osteosarcoma Fund. Sobiech will perform with his bandmates Sammy Brown and Reed Redmon (Firm Handshake) and Washington-based singer Vicci Martinez. During the event, Rock the Cause will also release a digital version of Sobiech and Brown’s new album, "Fix Me Up," the Pioneer Press reports. Zach recently signed a record deal with BMI; and he and his mother, Laura, are working on a video to accompany the title track of his new album. Zach, 17, a senior at …
