Kosama Workout Studio Now Open in Woodbury

It opened in the former Blockbuster space off Valley Creek Road.

Kosama—a new workout studio that sends members an email with their results after a session—opened about two weeks ago in Woodbury. Located in the former Blockbuster space at 1960 Donegal Drive, Kosama features small group workouts, and focuses on muscle confusion, nutrition and consultation. It uses “heart-zone training” and offers an eight-week money-back guarantee, said Jim Martin, director of sales. “The needle moves quickly,” he said. Kosama primarily has locations in the Midwest and offers six types of classes, Martin said. Customers wear a monitor around their chest that tracks the intensity of their workout and compiles information sent to clients via email. Woodbury Council Approves Plan for New School Building

The Math and Science Academy is looking to build a new structure with a gymnasium and classrooms.

Plans for a new gymnasium/classroom facility at Woodbury’s Math and Science Academy took another step forward on Wednesday. The Woodbury City Council approved several measures for the 31,000-square-foot building set to be built north of school, which opened in 1999. The architecture will be identical to the existing school building, Community Development Director Dwight Picha said. The school's enrollment is expected to swell to about 500 by the 2016-17 school year, Picha said. MSA, a 6-12 school, has about 425 students now. “It’s been a very successful school,” he said. School Expansion Bonds, Woodbury Drive Project on the City Council Docket

The City Council on Wednesday is set to move forward on the Woodbury Drive expansion project and potentially approve issuing bonds for a new gym and classroom space at the Math and Science Academy. The council meets at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall. Check out the full agenda. A public hearing on the Woodbury Drive expansion project is set for Wednesday night. Washington County is planning to expand the roadway from two lanes to four from Park Crossing to a quarter mile south of Bailey Road. Roundabouts are planned at the Lake and Bailey roads intersections. The work also includes concrete curb and gutter, storm sewer, and turn lanes where appropriate.
