Kris, please excuse the pause in getting back to you! (I was off on a trip learning about manatees - I've a charmed life occasionally)
I don't normally read anything about zombies...but when I was editing the piece I googled (knowing little to nothing about Walking Dead) and one of the pictures looked familiar (the one with the baby in the crib). Sure enough it was yours! And I re-read your article. I though it was all funny! -

Amy, it seems like you'll be needin' the piping hot tea for sure up there - 6 months of ski weather. Good night Irene to that, as they say! I'm sure you're anxious to get out in the yard to tend to your gardening business. I hope professional gardeners will be able to have 'their' season too. On one of those busy days, meet me in my yard and I'll have a cuppa ready for you and family (as soon as the daunting task of packing up is done here again). We shall see ye soon! Bye Amy & thank you. Margaret

ReplyLaurie, thank you for writing. Your comment is much appreciated. And, thank you Marion from Arizona. So great to get a note from AZ. I'm sure Ed's family will inform him that you wrote, and I just had a note sent to him too, moments ago. Thanks to you both. Margaret W.

ReplyThanks Bob & Pat, Amy, Brenda and Kris. I just spoke with Ed and he expressed thanks for the comments and warm wishes from the community. He feels it, even from strangers. Trinity Presbyterian Church presented him with a plaque last Sunday –the words they expressed/etched out for him are truly heart –warming & true.
The picture with the bow-tie of Ed, Kris, is from a Jazz event that Jolie Mouten covered for the Patch & Mike came from the Woodbury Bulletin. We had a live professional Jazz Band play first, and then the real entertainment began…as well as Ed performing, others performed in the Villa Band (those younger than 94 years old need not apply –there’s a waiting list to get into that band). They provided music and performance from all genres…One of the most popular performances was from – Are You Ready? “The Looney Tunes” - Three Little Bops was acted out by the Villa Band for their families, the neighbors of Woodbury, for the military. Mayor Mary, Alisa and Dick from the Woodbury Community Foundation, Chamber & more came out to cheer the elderly on. Dean Martin had an appearance with a drink in his hand and sang "Amore", Audrey Hepburn was in attendance -she sings beautifully. In addition, Carlos Santana appeared for the last gig of the night! -

I’ve appreciated the platform the Patch gives to keep community interest “awake”. I think you believe there is room at the table for everyone Kris – so do I. Thank you for posting Ed's story. Margaret

ReplyHello Alisa…you are a sore loss to the WCF. Your accomplishments are marvelous and I appreciate Mr. Widen pointing them out. I’m thrilled that Woodbury isn’t loosing you Alisa and family & that you shall continue to grace us. You are the epitome of grace and beauty, inside out!
Now, we heard the bad news about you leaving WCF, but take heart. I’m on Spring Break and I’m touring Ponce today. You can guess what I’m after – The Fountain of Youth. Juan Ponce de Leon was the first governor of Puerto Rico. He led the first European expedition to Fl. The Fountain is reputed to be in Fl. It’s not, I checked. Not the real one anyway. That water did nothing for me. So, I’m on the hunt today and tomorrow - and I’ll be bringing back all of the secrets to ye. Hey, Woodbury got Alisa for the ‘smarts’…ye get me for the muck and water to make ya live longer!!! Happy Passover and a Happy Easter.
Kris, can’t get the internet up as yet to write on my computer –they allowed me to use the reception’s computer to write Alisa a quick message. This hotel is 160 years old. You have to know about the Pookah – the 6th foot Rabbit that might abscond you around this time of year should you do certain things. You should be scared!!!! -

Inevitably the precious Sobiech’s family & friends will not forget the pain of their loss today. The only absolutely sure thing in life is the love we can give to others…This is a passage written by a doctor who experienced terrible loss himself, for all parents who grieve: “May we all find peace in the shared hope that our children who brought us such joy with their short lives are now a host of angels, loving us still, feeling our love for them, awaiting our coming, and knowing that they are safely locked forever in our hearts”. Lovingly thinking of this family tonight, from the Wachholz’ clan in Puerto Rico.
