Cows Come Home, Roundabout Rascal, Ding Ding: Woodbury Police Blotter

Selected calls to the Woodbury Public Safety Department from Aug. 6-12.

The following information was obtained from recent police reports.

Aug. 6

A resident called about a commotion involving a utility vehicle near the 10000 block of Antrim Court; he was concerned someone may be stealing from it. The truck was stuck in the mud.

A mailbox at the 11000 block of Stonemill Farms Curve was super-glued shut.

Employees at the auto shop at the 380 block of Rivertown Drive reported an irate customer screaming in the parking lot. The woman was gone by the time police arrived.

Aug. 7

Police disposed of a marijuana pipe found on the curb at the 1400 block of Parkwood Drive.

Police were called about a road rage incident that ended at Wal-Mart. Both had differing stories about the driving behavior of the other, and they exchanged choice words. The parties were warned of their behavior and advised to drive safely.

Aug. 8

A couple got into an argument (jealousy was the issue) at Applebee’s. There was no physical assault.

A fight broke out at Green Mill. A man in town from Chicago met two other men at the bar and they began talking about their gang affiliations.

A resident who lives on Whistler Point Road told police he may have angered another driver, who followed him home and yelled, “I’ll be back for you” as he drove past. Police discussed crime prevention with the Woodbury man and advised him to call 911 if he sees the car again.

Aug. 10

A woman who thought her car was dinged by the door of another in the lot at Wild Bill’s approached the vehicle, which was full with about seven women. The caller told police a passenger got out and punched her, though she exhibited no signs of assault; an employee said it was only a shove. A KOPS alert was put out for the vehicle.

In the parking lot at Wal-Mart, an officer cited a woman for driving after her license was revoked and not having any insurance. She was later arrested for allegedly leading police on a high-speed chase.

Aug. 11

Someone placed traffic cones in front of lanes at the new roundabout at Lake Road and Woodbury Drive, forcing cars to drive around in circles. The cones were removed.

Aug. 12

A back window on a Jeep parked at the 10200 block of City Walk Drive was broken, but nothing was stolen.

A caller told police there were cows loose in a ditch at Manning Avenue South and was concerned they may wander into the road. “The cows came home,” reads the report.

A call about someone taking photos of homes at the 2700 block of Edgewater Bay turned out to be an appraiser.

Police saw a child run from a parked car at Radio and City Centre drives. Police brought the child back to the car and spoke with the driver, who said he wanted his child to explore the neighborhood. Officers advised the man that allowing an unsupervised child to roam the streets on foot was not a good idea.
