Drive-Thru Urination, Drunk Driving Prank, No Kneed for Alarm: Woodbury Police Blotter

Selected calls to the Woodbury Public Safety Department from July 2-6.

The following information was obtained from recent police reports.

July 2

A resident called police after being approached by a man at Carver Lake Park who said he had placed a dangerous item in a garbage can and the caller should stay away from it. The man was soaking wet and left northbound along a bike path. The subject left notes, wet clothing and a broken laptop in the area. Nothing dangerous was found in the garbage can. The man was later found and transported to Regions Hospital for evaluation.

Police were called about a Facebook dispute in which one man allegedly told another that they should not meet in person because he would get some friends and murder him. The caller didn’t seem to be scared by the threat, but wanted the other man contacted. Police talked to the individual who made the alleged threat, and he agreed not to have any further communication with the caller.

After seeing a bicyclist crossing against a red light at Woodbury Drive and Valley Creek Road, an officer stopped the man, who had a drug warrant out for his arrest and marijuana in his possession. He was transported to the Washington County Jail and his marijuana and one-hitter were destroyed.

July 3

Police received a tip via the city’s email system about drug deals going down at Carver Lake Park.

A motorist was pulled over along Tamarack Road after a complaint about possible drunk driving. The driver was not intoxicated, and told police it may have been a friend pulling a prank on him. Police advised the man to tell his friend it was not funny and charges could be pursued.

July 4

A man was admitted for psychological evaluation after police set up a perimeter at a home at the 2800 block of Liberty Court.

A hay bailer caught fire at the 9600 block of Dale Road. The Woodbury Fire Department responded.

July 5

A woman in a car in the drive-through lane at McDonald’s exited the gray Hyundai with Wisconsin license plates and urinated nearby. Police checked the area but did not locate the car.

After receiving a call about a possibly drunken man walking with a limp along Tamarack Road, police learned he was awaiting knee replacement surgery.

July 6

Police were called about three younger men with flashlights around an empty home at the 2500 block of Leyland Echo, but they were gone by the time officers arrived. There were no signs that the home had been entered.

Workers at the Hudson Road Chipotle called police about a drunken customer who left in a Mercedes, but officers were unable to locate the individual.
