A plea hearing has been scheduled for Demetrius S. Ballinger, 26, of Stillwater, who is accused of sparking a hostage situation at the Woodbury Red Roof Inn last summer that left one man dead after being shot by police, according to the Pioneer Press.

Ballinger, 26, of Stillwater is charged with 27 felonies, including second-degree attempted murder, four counts of rape involving juvenile females and aggravated robbery.His plea hearing, which signals an agreement has been reached with prosecutors, is scheduled for June 13. Details of the plea deal were not immediately available.
