Woodbury Country Mile Celebrates 30 Years With 1,000 Entrants

Runners of all ages participate in annual Woodbury Days event.

Almost 1,000 runners of all ages particapted in Sunday's Country Mile Races.  

The morning's events featured a half marathon, 5K and two children's races. Sponsored by the Woodbury Chamber of Commerce, the event celbrated its 30th year in 2011.

Kirk Walztoni from Eagan won the half marathon with a time of 1:19:03. Brian Schultz, the fourth-place finisher was Woodbury's best. Jennifer Vega from Des Moines was the top female runner, finishing in fifth place overall. Lara Christianson (35th) was the top Woodbury female.

Two Woodbury High School students were the top male and female finishers in the 5K race. Sam Evans, of , finished first in a time of 17:15. Bailey Ness, from , finished first for the women in 17th overall.
