Updated: Punch Pizza Coming to Woodbury
The wood-fire pizza shop made the announcement on its Facebook page.
Punch Pizza will arrive in Woodbury this spring.
The wood-fire pizza shop posted a note on its Facebook page saying it has signed a lease to open the eighth Punch Pizza in Woodbury. It's expected to open in June 2013. The post was accompanied by the city’s logo.
It will be located in the same building as FedEx/Kinkos at the northwest corner of Radio Drive and Valley Creek Road, said Jenny Nyquist, senior manager.
Punch has been looking for a spot in Woodbury for years, she said, and finally found the perfect location. A patio will also be built at the site, Nyquist said.
Punch’s Neapolitan pizzas cook in an 800-degree wood-fire oven and come out in 90 seconds, Nyquist said.
“And it’s just like you get in Naples, Italy,” she said. “A really great product at an affordable price."
It will have a similar layout to its quick-service locations, Nyquist said, adding that Punch is family friendly.
Punch Pizza has locations in Highland Park and on Grand Avenue in St. Paul, along with five others in the Twin Cities.
It serves a wide variety of pizza, and offers beer and wine. Salads are also on the menu.

Cherie: If you're thinking Ronally's Pizza, you won't recognize Punch as pizza at all. Totally different food!

Since I've been going to Punch for years..and last Saturday... i haven't had any other type of pizza. Their salads are off the chart. Finally a restaurant I can go to in Woodbury. We give the wait staff there at the Cleveland Ave location grief about coming to Woodbury and then this.....great news!!!

It should be cool. I have bumped into Woodbury folks at the Grand Ave location too.

Parking is going to be a headache at that location. Make mine carry out, please.

This came up on our Facebook page Paul. I think if you're willing to walk from that main lot, kind of by Atlantic Buffet, it won't be too big of an issue.

I think there's some vacant space on the corner spot by VCR. Next time I'm over there I'll take a closer look.

Fed-Ex Kinko's has reduced it's size by at least half. Punch is going on the side closest to Valley Creek and will have a patio that will wrap around and go back toward the reserve.

Very excited to hear that Punch is coming to Woodbury. My favorite pizza in the Twin Cities, hands-down.
But, as mentioned here, parking for dining-in will be a pain. But that seems to be a Punch trademark (thinking of the Highland Park, Grand Ave. and Dinkytown locations). But it will be well worth it for Punch.
Thank you Punch Pizza, for coming to Woodbury!

You're right about parking being issues at Punch spots. I keep checking out that spot to see if any work is going on, but I haven't seen anything yet.

Parking is going to be really sucky. I frequent the Caribou that is there & that business area in general is not a quick in & out.
Regardless, I am super excited to have a punch closer to home.

Parking keeps coming up with this spot. I am excited to have one in town. People were also questioning parking at that spot where Jake’s Wayback Burgers is planning to go in. http://patch.com/A-2MmT
