College Grads, Scholars from Woodbury

Concordia University

Molly Sweeney, a student at Woodbury High School, has been admitted to Concordia University, St. Paul for the fall 2013 semester. Sweeney was awarded the Presidents and BOLD scholarships.

Sawyer Moon, a student at Woodbury High School, was awarded the Concordia Opportunity grant for the fall 2013 semester.

David Kroger, a student at East Ridge High School, was awarded the Presidents scholarship for the fall 2013 semester.

Saharla Afqarshe, a student at Woodbury High School, was awarded the Presidents and BOLD2 scholarships for the fall 2013 semester.

Logan Delaney, a student at East Ridge High School, was awarded the University and Lutheran Heritage scholarships for the fall 2013 semester.

St. Cloud State

St. Cloud State University junior Michelle Spude, of Woodbury, was awarded the Accounting Alumni Scholarship in the amount of $750 for fall semester 2012. To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be admitted to the accounting major and have a GPA of at least 3.0.

UND

Among the degree recipients from Woodbury honored at the Dec. 14 graduation ceremony at the University of North Dakota were:

  • Nicole Misencik (MBA)
  • Brittany Turner (B.S., education)
Rochester Institute of Technology

Elissa Fung and Emily Nielsen, both of Woodbury, made the dean’s list for the 2012 fall quarter at the Rochester Institute of Technology.

St. Olaf

Performers in the annual St. Olaf Christmas Festival in Northfield included the following students from Woodbury:

Michael Mayer, a member of the Cantorei. Mayer is undeclared. He is the son of Matthew and Tanya Mayer.

Emily Anderson, a member of the Manitou Singers. Anderson is undeclared. She is the daughter of Duane and Mary Anderson.

Christina Solensten, a member of the St. Olaf Orchestra. Solensten is a music major. She is the daughter of Steven and Julianne Solensten.

Biola University

Lindsay Ahlquist, of Woodbury, was one of 1,306 students who were named to Biola University's Spring 2012 dean's list for academic excellence.
