Two Egg Hunts Coming Up in Woodbury

The events will be held regardless of the weather.

Waking up to more snow Monday might not have folks thinking spring, but it won’t stop the Woodbury Parks and Recreation Department from holding two egg hunts on Friday.

Both events will take place “rain, shine, snow, hail or sleet,” according to Elizabeth Owens, recreation technician. Participants should dress for the weather.

People are asked to being their own baskets for the traditional, candy-free egg hunt. Each age group of children will hunt for different colored eggs hidden throughout the park. Eggs will be filled with small trinkets: stickers, temporary tattoos, bouncy balls, rings and more.

The event is recommended for 3- to 7-year-olds with an adult. The egg hunt begins promptly at 6:30 p.m.

Flashlight Egg Hunt

This egg hunt is a bit more adventurous.

Participants are asked to bring a bucket and a flashlight to search for hundreds of eggs that will be hidden throughout Carver Lake Park.

The event begins at 8:30 p.m. Friday, March 22.

The cost is $3 in advance or $5 the day of the hunt. People can register by visiting the city’s website or calling 651-714-3583.

Find one of the special eggs with a hidden message and claim a prize. “It's not how many you find, but finding the right one.”

The flashlight egg hunt is recommended for 6- to 13-year-olds with an adult.
