Woodbury’s Christian Cupboard Hires New Executive Director

Kristin Kinney has previous experience serving low-income individuals and families in several organizations.

The Christian Cupboard Emergency Food Shelf on Monday announced the hire of a new executive director.

Kristin Kinney assumed the role on May 1, and is now responsible for “the general management of CCEFS including operations, fund raising, public awareness and program development,” according to a release from the Christian Cupboard Board.

She has previous experience serving low-income individuals and families in several organizations, including the Dakota County Community Development Agency, Ramsey County Workforce Solutions and Lifetrack Resources, Inc., a local nonprofit.

Kinney’s hire continues the Christian Cupboard Board’s transition plan, which began last fall.

“Her broad experience dealing with the variety of issues confronting low-income families will permit CCEFS to pursue a holistic approach to food insecurity in our community,” reads the release.

The Christian Cupboard is located inside Woodbury Lutheran Church.

Kinney has a BA in psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Stout and a master’s in education/counseling from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Annex Teen Clinic in Robbinsdale and played an active role on the Ramsey County Low Income Citizens Advisory Council.

She was born and raised in Stillwater and now lives with her husband and two children in the northern Twin Cities suburbs.
