The Walking Dead: Woodbury vs. Woodbury

In season three of the popular AMC television show The Walking Dead, some survivors of the zombie-plagued world band together in a small Georgia town called Woodbury.

Season four begins Sunday, Oct. 13.

Clearly, that town and the Woodbury we know and love are somewhat different.

Woodbury, GA: 1,102 (pre-zombies), 72 (post-zombies)

Woodbury, GA: Mostly zombie-free. Though the “walkers” are a constant threat.

Woodbury, GA: Mysterious, murderous man who goes by “The Governor” and is becoming increasingly deranged.

Woodbury, GA: Has a McDonald's, Walmart and arena where fights are held for entertainment in the graphic novels.

Woodbury, MN: Has a McDonald’s and Walmart.

Healthcare

Woodbury, GA: On the cutting edge of zombie-prevention research.

Woodbury, MN: Known for having many healthcare employers.

Safety

Woodbury, GA: High walls, weapons, strict curfews.

Woodbury, MN: Massive retaining wall at Woodbury Lakes. Curfews for minors only. Police have been able to keep the city zombie-free.

Downtown

Woodbury, GA: Yes, though buildings are protected with heavy artillery.

Woodbury, MN: No, though buildings are protected by doors with locks.

Growth

Woodbury, GA: One character is pregnant, which could bump the town’s population by one. (However, the Governor has apparently murdered fellow survivors of the zombie plague.)

Woodbury, MN: Opening up Phase 2 for further development and plans a new urban village at Radio Drive and Bailey Road.
