Two New Stores, One New Restaurant Coming to Woodbury Lakes

The shopping center announced the upcoming openings on Thursday.

Woodbury Lakes on Thursday announced that three new stores will be opening there in the coming months.

“We’re really excited about it,” said Laurie Mordorski, marketing director at Woodbury Lakes.

Osaka Seafood and Steakhouse

Osaka Seafood and Steakhouse is set to open its sixth Twin Cities location at Woodbury Lakes in January 2013.

The restaurant, according to its website, offers:

  • Authentic Japanese Cuisine
  • Full bar (Japanese beer)/wine list
  • Sushi bar
  • Several hibachi grills
  • Children's menu
  • Carryout

Osaka will move into the space formerly occupied by Kenichi Japanese and Sushi. Kenichi is still open but will be closing soon, Mordorski said.

Osaka will also feature some patio space and will be expanding, as well.

Crazy 8

Crazy 8 will open at Woodbury Lakes in January 2013.

Set to go in between Gap and the Sleep Number Store, Crazy 8 is part of the Gymboree Corporation’s family of brands and offers outfits for girls and boys (sizes 0 to 14).

The first Crazy 8 store opened in August 2007, the release says, and The Gymboree Corporation currently operates more than 220 Crazy 8 stores in the U.S.

Knox Jewelers

Currently located on Lyndale Avenue in south Minneapolis, Knox Jewelers will open its second Twin Cities store at Woodbury Lakes in late 2012 or early 2013.

The jewelry store is going in next to Victoria's Secret, Mordorski said.

Anybody been to Osaka?
Nicole Julian Twisk October 04, 2012 at 04:52 PM
Osaka? Yet another poor choice for this space. Why can't they get a Cosi, Panera, or Camilles Sidewalk Cafe? There needs to be a quick-casual dining option for shoppers with kid-friendly food!!!! Do they notice who walks around their mall? Moms with kids and teens for the most part. Not exactly Japanese Seafood and Steakhouse customers....

I couldn't agree more. Something easy and casual. Maybe another Noodles & Co, or Potbelly's (Can never get enough of either). Something casual, quick and not a burger joint.

Besides Lakes Tavern, are there any other spots at Woodbury Lakes that have patios?
Julie Bunch October 04, 2012 at 05:40 PM
Agree Nicole...not many are going to sit down for a full meal while shopping with their kids. We went to Osaka in Apple Valley for my nephew's birthday (for the hibachi thing) and I was not overly impressed, but maybe this one will be better. There is a place that we go to in Mesa--Paradise Bakery & Cafe--that would be great!!

Cosi would be awesome! I wouldn't mind a d'amico either!

What's Cosi?

Taven Grill located on Tamerack & Bielenberg.

That's not at Woodbury Lakes though S. But I do love their patio.

Woodbury Lakes has been nothing but a disappointment. We need a kid friendly american fare place where moms/dads and kids can go. Then maybe they would stay and shop-

All those stores are high end retailers Banna Republic, Buckle, Eddie Bauer, the designer stores, jewelery shops, etc... The Sea food and steak house will fit right in. It's a perfect location for families that can afford the stop, there is an ice cream shop, lots of high end kid clothing stores, etc. It's a small niche, I never afford to shop there with my family. Don't be mad, it's basically the only high end shopping center in Washington county. It brings lots of tax dollars to the area, the shops provide jobs, and the rich people that shop there might second guess moving away because they have local high end stores to shop at:) If you want affordable shopping with family friendly shops than go to any other shopping center in Washington county except Woodbury Lakes lol.

Again, Woodbury Lakes provides no reason for the male shopper to visit their location.
Kris Janisch October 06, 2012 at 02:58 PM
Got word a week or so ago that H&M is now selling clothes for guys.
STW October 06, 2012 at 04:07 PM
The male can not shop on Cloths alone. Make the place better where a guy can rest his butt and have a drink close by. Put some cool shops in there. Places with tools, electronics, things that the male would like.
Kris Janisch October 06, 2012 at 04:08 PM
Ha! I wouldn't mind a sports bar either. Lakes Tavern isn't bad though.

think about your statement........Male shopper?
Today's Bed October 07, 2012 at 04:37 PM
Cosi and Paradise Bakery are similar to Panera
Today's Bed October 07, 2012 at 04:38 PM
Cosi is in the midwest and elsewhere , and Paradise Bakery, which was bought out by Panera, is prevalent in AZ. Jason's Deli would be another great option...
