Woodbury Drive Closes, Police Step Up Speeding Enforcement

The northern portion of the roadwork project begins first.

A portion of Woodbury Drive was set to close Monday as the biggest roadwork project of the year finally gets underway following delays because of weather.

The road will be expanded to four lanes from Park Crossing to a quarter mile south of Bailey Road. Roundabouts will be installed at Lake and Bailey roads.

The northern portion of the project will be completed first, and the road will be closed for about three months from Park Crossing to Lake Road, according to project updates from Washington County.

Once that work is completed, crews will begin construction on the southern portion.

Meanwhile, Woodbury police on Sunday conducted enhanced speed enforcement along Eagle Valley Drive.

From the Public Safety Department’s Facebook page:

Today Officers conducted a speed enforcement detail on Eagle Valley Dr between the blocks of 2400 and 2600. resulting in 11 motorists being stopped for speeding.

Woodbury Dr should be closing on Monday, 4/29, which will likely push traffic onto Eagle Valley Drive so our recent enforcement efforts will hopefully help to keep the speeds down on Eagle Valley Dr.

Other aspects of the project include trails on both sites of the road and a system that will capture storm water runoff for use at Eagle Valley Golf Course and Prestwick Golf Club.
