About the Christian Cupboard

The Christian Cupboard Emergency Food Shelf was formed as a non-profit organization by seven Woodbury area churches in 1983.

The Woodbury Lutheran Church made space available to house CCEFS, and has remained the host church ever since.

In the first year of operation, on average 5 households came to the shelf each week to obtain assistance. By 2005, the number of needy households served averaged 75 per week; today, as many as 100 households or more are served each week.

The organization provides more than 300,000 pounds of food and personal care products annually to those in need.
