Update on Mark Mann, Woodbury Native Who Lost Legs

"It really isn't a sob story. I'm grateful to be alive and breathing," Mann told Patch. "I'm a pretty positive person, and I've tried to keep that mind-set throughout."

When Patch did a story in early July on Mark Mann, who lost his legs at the shins in a June boating accident, about $8,500 had been raised for his cause.

On Aug. 9, a fundraiser was held at New Life Academy in Woodbury, where Mann went to school.

The donations are now up to more than $23,000.
