Police Pursuit in Woodbury Ends Along Interlachen Parkway

A woman was spotted in a stolen car and an officer used the "pit maneuver" to terminate the chase at Interlachen and Brentwood Trail.

A St. Paul woman led Woodbury police on a brief pursuit Thursday night before an officer used the “pit maneuver” to end the chase.

The officer at about 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, spotted a vehicle driving in the back lot of the Public Safety Department, according to Michelle Okada, police spokeswoman.

The officer ran the plates and learned the vehicle was stolen and attempted to initiate a traffic stop.

The driver, a 20-year-old woman, took off at a high rate of speed toward Radio Drive and Valley Creek Road, and then turned onto Interlachen Parkway, where the officer used the pit maneuver to stop the car at Brentwood Trail.

The woman was injured and taken to Regions Hospital, Okada said, though the extent of her injuries, or whether they were caused by the crash, wasn’t clear as of Friday morning.
