Holy Cow, Spill the Wine, Hit that Girl: Woodbury Police Blotter

The following information was obtained from recent police reports.

A resident at the 7900 block of Woodpark Boulevard called police about speeders along her street; she has previously contacted the Woodbury City Council requesting speed humps in the area.

Police were called after a resident saw a parent at Taco Bell push a young boy into a vehicle. It seemed unnecessary to the caller. Officers made contact with the father, who said his child was hitting his mother and throwing food and needed a timeout. The child appeared “happy, energetic and showed no signs of abuse.”

After conducting registry checks at the Red Roof Inn, police found a woman who had a warrant out for her arrest in Carver County. She was taken into custody without incident. She had two cats in the room with her, and police allowed her to call a friend to retrieve them.

A resident at the 1600 block of Corral Lane called police after receiving a threatening text message following a $200 dispute over purchased furniture.

A resident reported that a student may have spilled red wine while on a school bus.

A $3,500 bicycle was reported stolen from Penn Cycle. A man was in the store for about 25 minutes talking with employees, and when left alone apparently took the bike. Officers suggested workers check eBay and Craigslist.

Employees at Kwik Trip called police after a customer became unruly and started cursing at workers because he was asked for his ID on a purchase.

Police were called about a group of people at the St. Paul East RV Park that had “an unusually large amount of cash and are not acting consistent with their normal clientele.”

A woman at the 10400 block of Eagle Pointe Trail who was called from a man claiming to be a diplomat from Nicaragua learned it was a scam and when the individual called back she “made her displeasure with him known.”

A woman at the 2200 block of Sycamore Trail who was shaking out her rug heard a voice whisper “hey you” and she ran back inside and locked the door. Police checked the area but didn’t find anyone.

Police were called about two men selling electronics out of the back of a van in the parking lot at the Holiday gas station. They were gone by the time police arrived.

A babysitter at the 3400 block of Cherry Lane called police about a possible prowler ringing the doorbell and knocking on the door. Police learned it was a neighbor trying to drop off mail delivered to his house by mistake.

A girl was threatened by a teenager she had not seen before in the parking lot at Woodbury High School during the Royals’ football game against Park High School. The suspect was gone by the time police arrived.

A resident at the 1700 block of Evergreen Bay called police to report that his neighbor has been shooting squirrels with a pellet gun and the dead animals were ending up in his yard.

A $700 iPhone was reported stolen from a server at Wild Bill’s.

The mother of a high school student reported that her daughter had several objects, including pop bottles, thrown at her during a recent Woodbury High School football game.

A resident called police after seeing a man get out of his vehicle, stagger and yell, then get back inside near the intersection of Lydia Lane and Woodlane Drive. Police arrived and found him passed out in the front seat with the keys in his lap. There was an open bottle of Bud Light in the center console. He was booked at the Washington County Jail.

A driver who swerved to miss a deer and went into the ditch and her car roll over on Manning Avenue came away from the accident unscathed.

A resident at the 7200 block of Guider Drive reported that her draft stopper was stolen.

A resident at the 2500 block of Alpine Drive reported that someone stuck a tampon smeared with pink marker on her door.

Two women engaged in mutual combat near the intersection of Cresthaven Trail and Cresthaven Drive. Police stood by until they both left.

A calf got loose from property at the 2900 block of Manning Avenue South. An officer was able to get the calf back behind the fence, and the homeowner told police he would find out how the calf got out.

While searching a vehicle during a shoplifting incident police found marijuana. Charges were requested.

A resident reported finding three bags full of dead animals with feathers near Hom Furniture. Police went to the spot but didn’t find anything.

A resident at the 2300 block of Timberlea Drive reported a planner and paperwork was stolen from his garage.
