Indecent Exposure, Car Sabotage, Suspicious Shoveling: Woodbury Police Blotter

The following information was obtained from recent police reports.

A burning smell reported at LeeAnn Chin was possibly a burned transformer, but not a fire.

Police were called about a likely theft at SuperAmerica. A woman came in and pre-paid for $5 worth of gas, then milled around in the store for about 15 minutes. When she left, she yelled out to an older woman at the car, “Mom, I hope you pre-paid.” Employees later learned she had stolen a bag of dog food. She may have also stolen a lighter, candy and trinkets.

Officers advised workers and a customer at Car Care that a dispute over a vehicle was a civil issue. A man brought his car in to have the heat looked at, and while it was warming up for the work it ran out of gas. Employees said a diagnostic test showed it was a problem with the fuel pump, but the man said workers had sabotaged his car.

An officer spotted a man apparently urinating outside a car near the 3500 block of Parkers Drive. He had no significant criminal history and was issued a warning.

A man apparently interrupted a burglary at storage locker at an apartment building at the 7200 block of Guider Drive. He told police he was going out for a smoke and heard a rustling sound near his locker. Near his locker he saw a man who ran away. He said he would have confronted him but the man was very tall and muscular. Police checked the area but didn’t find anyone matching the description.

A resident at the 10300 block of Raleigh Road called police after she thought she heard something banging on her home, but police didn’t find anything suspicious.

A resident at a multi-unit building at the 2300 block of Eagle Trace Lane called police after smelling the odor of marijuana, which seemed to be emanating from the laundry room. She was unsure which unit it may be coming from and was advised to call back if she encountered further issues.

A customer at Goodwill told employees someone had pushed a full cart of unpaid merchandise out the door, but workers could not determine a theft occurred.

A woman at a Woodbury church was taken to detox after she tried to drive home—her Alcoholics Anonymous sponsors had called police. She was handcuffed and screamed profanities at officers as she was escorted to the squad car.

Police were called about a fight at a Woodbury home but were refused entrance. The people there were advised of the complaint and told to stay inside for the night.

Officers determined there was no burglary at Wells Fargo after a man hired to do the shoveling called about a door that was ajar.

Police saw three men behaving suspiciously in the area near Quiznos and Dunn Bros. Two of them told police the third man was using the bathroom at Asia Bistro. One of them had been arrested for burglary in 2000 and the license plate number of the vehicle they arrived in has been run routinely by police.

Police were called about a domestic dispute at Wal-Mart. A man became upset at his wife over something he saw on her cellphone, and began yelling and overturned a cart. No assault occurred. She left in her vehicle. He refused a ride to Denny’s.

There was a report of a car with two men inside who were going through mailboxes at the 9300 block of Parkside Echo.

A Woodbury resident called police after seeing someone shoveling the driveway—the person who lives there hadn’t asked anyone to do it. It was a neighbor who had decided to do it on his own.
