Woodbury police were called to Carmine’s at about 11:40 p.m. Oct. 19 on a report of a fight.

Employees there directed officers to Decker, whose right hand was covered with blood; he did not appear to have any other injuries.

The alleged victim, meanwhile, was holding a towel to the left side of his face, which was covered in blood.

Police spoke with several witnesses about the incident, which apparently started when one of Decker’s friends got upset because a person in another group bumped the back of his chair.

Decker then confronted the group and hit another man in the face with a 16- or 20-ounce beer glass, witnesses told police. The victim was seated at the time.

The man who was hit was treated for a deep cut in his cheek—muscle tissue was exposed—and another cut above his eye.

If convicted, Decker faces up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.
