Police Blotter: Rescued Ducklings, Bridal Break-in, Stolen Fireplace?

The following information was obtained from recent police reports.

Police determined that no crime occurred after they were called to the parking lot on a report of a verbal domestic dispute, which apparently started because of a cell phone.

Police were called after a resident fell off a bicycle near Settlers Ridge Parkway and Lake Road and her son took her to the hospital; they left the $1,200 bike there and it was gone when they returned. It was later learned that a neighbor had held the bike for safekeeping. The bike was returned.

Officers made unsuccessful attempts to contact an individual who reported that a fireplace was stolen from a vacant home at the 11000 block of Wagon Wheel Curve.

Police were called about a verbal dispute between a two neighbors whose children are having issues in school. A man threatened to beat up his female neighbor and called her other pejorative terms after she accused him of being “methed out.” Officers mediated the situation and asked them to stay away from one another.

Someone attempted to steal the catalytic converter of a vehicle parked at the 2300 block of Cypress Drive. The vehicle’s exhaust pipe had obvious cut marks but the device was still attached.

Police took a switchblade from a man at the Red Roof Inn who was exhibiting signs of paranoia. He told officers someone was following him; he also had a bullet in his pocket.

A furnace, air conditioner and other items were reported stolen from a home under construction at the 11000 block of Sand Castle Drive.

A resident called police about a homeowner at the 8000 block of Greenbriar Lane who may have been watering her lawn on the wrong days. (The city has an .) Police did not find a violation.

Someone attempted to break into but did not gain access to the CityWalk establishment. There were pry marks on a side service door and an area of the wall was damaged. Total damage was estimated at $1,000.

A resident at the 300 block of Elan Court reported that his umbrella was stolen, though his home has security bars on the doors, no one has a spare key and there were no signs of forced entry. (He has also , and has made similar reports before.)

Police took a cat that had been living in a sewer near the 6100 block of Courtly Alcove to the .

A resident at the 1200 block of St. Johns Drive whose husband spotted someone looking into the windows of their home a few weeks ago called police after a man on a bike doing figure eights in front of the house asked if they were new to the neighborhood. She said yes and he said he lived across the lake and then biked away.

While doing a routine check of vehicles at the on Lake Road Terrace, police discovered a man who had a KOPS alert out for his arrest for domestic assault. The Inver Grove Heights man was taken into custody.

employees and Woodbury officers were able to free eight ducklings from a storm sewer near the restaurant. The animals were returned to their mother.

Police were called about juveniles hanging items from fishing line of out of the windows of their school bus. The incident occurred near the intersection of Seasons Parkway and Radio Drive.

Two bicycles were reported stolen from a garage at the 7200 block of Guider Drive.

A fight involving several juveniles and young adults broke out at the . Police arrived and several people were fleeing the area. Some were cited for underage consumption.

A rock was thrown through a window at a home at the 2400 block of Eyrie Drive.

Police were called after a man got a text message saying he should “put on makeup and heals,” and after he was done playing three more holes of golf the person would be right over. He texted back with question marks and the reply came with a picture of a half-naked girl. The man wanted the incident documented in case it was related to prostitution.

Police determined that text messages received by a Woodbury man regarding a 15-year-old female being kidnapped in Chicago was part of a prank.

An employee at called police after a man was seen apparently punching a boy in the backseat of a car. The individual was later located in St. Paul.

A man reported that his credit card was stolen from his gym bag while at the YMCA and $1,300 in charges were rung up at the Eau Claire, Wis., Best Buy.

A man reported that credit cards were stolen from his gym bag while at the YMCA and used at stores in Maplewood. The total charges were $2,500.

A bag of trail mix and audio books were reported stolen from a car at the 2100 block of Parkview Lane.

A Walmart employee noticed three people from a previous theft and followed them through the store. They noticed they were being followed and one of the individuals threatened to punch the employee. They then left the store.
