Police Blotter: Tree’s the Bees Knees, Beer Burglary, Guinea Pig at Large

The following information was obtained from recent police reports.

An obscene image was spray painted on a shed at the 6600 block of Buckingham Road.

A resident at the 6700 block of Ashwood Road reported hearing gunshots all morning; police checked the area but did not find anything suspicious.

The determined that a transformer had blown a fuse after police received a call about the sound of an explosion from a resident at the 7200 block of Coachwood Road.

A home at the 2100 block of Eagle Trace Lane was burglarized. The resident came home to find that her front door had been forced open and jewelry and a laptop computer were stolen. The living room television was also disturbed, and police were able to gather some evidence from the home.

Baby formula was stolen from ; an employee noticed the missing items and checked surveillance footage, which showed a man who had previously stolen baby formula from the store.

A resident at the 10100 block of City Walk Drive called police after a neighbor was harassing her. He would bang on his floor if her heard her dog barking and took photos of her apparently letting the dog urinate outside in a prohibited area. Police contacted office officials, who told them the man was being evicted and was trying to report offenses in an attempt to avoid paying his last month’s rent.

Outgoing mail was reported stolen from a mailbox at the 300 block of Blue Heron Lane.

A student who, against school policy, took out an iPad during class had it confiscated by a teacher at , but the device went missing. The school’s principal addressed the students and gave the thief a chance to come forward. None did.

A cell phone was reported stolen from a car parked at the 3400 block of Churchill Drive.

An unruly customer at the had left before police arrived.

Several items, valued at $350 total, were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in a driveway at the 8300 block of Marsh Creek Road. Some of the items were later found in the area of Parkwood Drive.

A wallet was reported stolen from a vehicle at the parking lot.

The Woodbury Fire Department put out a dumpster fire behind .

A man at the 3900 block of Torrey Drive flagged down an officer on routine patrol to report that his home had been vandalized several times in recent weeks. Often a liquor bottle was smashed in his driveway.

Two homes at the 2500 block of Lone Eagle Trail were vandalized; one home was egged and a globe from a neighbor’s house was thrown into the street.

A resident at the 2400 block of Fieldstone Curve called police after a swarm of 1,000 bees flew into his yard and gathered on a small tree in his front yard. An officer contacted a Washington County bee expert, who said a local beekeeper would be sent out to collect the bees ensure they are not a public health issue.

For the third time in three weeks, a catalytic converter was stolen from a car in Woodbury, this time from a truck parked at the 4600 block of Cottage Grove Drive.

A power line was touching a tree and sparking near the intersection of Military Road and Valhalla Drive. The Woodbury Fire Department handled the call.

A resident who lives on Bailey Ridge Draw came home from a walk to find a woman stealing a beer from a refrigerator in her garage. The woman fled and was found a short time later at her house.

Two vehicles were reported stolen from an underground garage at the 1500 block of Parkwood Drive. One was recovered a short distance away. There were also reports of vehicle break-ins at the garage.

Employees at called police after seeing a man on surveillance footage taking a putter from the pro shop and concealing it behind a hat rack. He then milled about the store for a time and took the club as he left.

Scaffolding pole pump jacks, valued at $2,500, were reported stolen from a construction site at the 11000 block of Wagon Wheel Curve.

About $5,800 in jewelry was reported stolen by an intruder at a home at the 2400 block of Eyrie Drive. There were pry marks on the front door and a woman who was at the home at the time heard a woman’s voice.

A resident at the 10200 block of City Walk Drive called police after finding a guinea pig inside a large clear plastic ball behind the building’s rental office. There were no tags on the animal, which was delivered to the Humane Society.

A man who was house-sitting for his parents, who live at the 5100 block of Tower Drive, called police after an alarm set up at their Military Road horse pasture went off.
