‘Proactive Community Policing’ for Woodbury Intersection

There have been a variety of calls recently at the area of Hudson Road and Century Avenue.

Woodbury police and city officials on Thursday morning gathered near the intersection of Hudson Road and Century Avenue.

There wasn’t a particular incident to which they were responding.

But the city has seen a spike in calls of late to that area, everything from traffic accidents to break-ins, said Michelle Okada, Woodbury police spokeswoman.

She called it “proactive community policing.”

The calls haven’t all been at that intersection, but the area in general has seen an uptick, Okada said.

Authorities were in talks with the city’s Community Development Department to see if something can be done regarding traffic and officials have also been in touch with area businesses about the recent spate of calls for service.
