Racial Slurs, Party Bus Brawl, Stranger Danger: Woodbury Police Blotter

Selected calls to the Woodbury Public Safety Department from Sept. 24-30.

The following information was obtained from recent police reports.

Sept. 24

Police were called to Shawnee Park about juveniles who may be breaking into the warming house. Officers spoke with the teens, and one said the other was vomiting due to cancer treatment. They were at the park to get fresh air and medical attention was not needed.

Sept. 25

Police advised a parent of a fight between youngsters at a bus stop in Woodbury. One parent wanted to speak with the father of a child but didn’t feel comfortable doing so.

Sept. 26

A resident went to the Public Safety Department to report he had seen a man who appeared to be in his 60s taking photos near Lake Road and Wedgewood Drive.

Police were called about a couple arguing in the parking lot of the retail area near Sam’s Club. The man got out of the car and yelled, “Stop. I can’t take it anymore.” They then went into Sam’s Club, and employees there reported no issues.

A woman reported that a man exposed himself to her while they were parked in their respective vehicles at Woodbury Lakes. See: Woman Reports Flasher in Woodbury

A woman told police her son was approached by a man in a car who asked if the boy wanted a ride home on Sept. 13. She was following up after similar reports in Cottage Grove. She told officers the man approached her child along Woodlane Drive near Sherwood Road. Police were following up.

A resident asked police how to deal with noisy neighbors on Dunmore Road.

Sept. 27

A woman told police men at the Red Roof Inn were causing a disturbance and tried to steal her money. Officers checked the area but did not find anyone, but employees asked police for assistance evicting a man from the motel.

A resident reported being harassed by students at the Woodbury High School football game. They were reportedly yelling racial slurs. Police were working to identify the culprits.

Sept. 28

Police determined the door of a home on Wild Canyon Court was not locked properly after investigating a possible break-in.

Following a road rage incident at Woodbury Drive and Hudson Road, police warned those involved about their behavior.

Sept. 29

Two girls were cited for disorderly conduct following a fight on a party bus at Wild Bill’s. Security had to pull one girl off the other. One still had a fistful of the other’s hair. One girl had apparently talked trash about a bride, who was the guest of honor in the bus. The girls were taken to detox.

A woman reported that drunken guests at the Hampton Inn confronted her and threw bottles at her car. Police were unable to locate the subjects, and employees said they would call back if there were further disturbances.
