Sidewalk Drive DWI, Bathroom Mystery, Shower Shriek: Woodbury Police Blotter

The following information was obtained from recent police reports.

A resident at the 7100 block of Foxboro Lane North reported that a pet-entry door on a door of her home had been damaged while she was out of town.

A resident reported that there were several wolves in the Stonemill Farms neighborhood.

Police were called to a home on Springbook Place on a report of a burglary in progress—a resident reported seeing a masked burglar dressed in black inside the house. However, there was no sign of forced entry and no evidence a burglary had occurred. Police interviewed the resident later, and she admitted she may not have seen a burglar, but came home and a door was unsecured and she got scared, and didn’t expect such a large police response, nor “officers to be armed with long guns.”

An officer spotted a man whose head was down in a vehicle parked near Wimbledon Drive and Leyland Trail. The officer checked on the man’s welfare and noticed the smell of marijuana. Inside the car police found cigar wrappers and synthetic marijuana. The man was not under the influence at the time but was warned of his behavior.

A Lake Elmo man called police after receiving a bill for $2,000 from T-Mobile, though he doesn’t have an account with the company. His father, who has the same name, does, and police told him it was likely a billing error.

After receiving a call about juveniles slamming doors and making lewd comments in hallways at an apartment complex at the 7200 block of Guider Drive, management told police it has been an ongoing problem. The complainant was encouraged to call police again if needed.

A woman drove up onto the sidewalk near Kowalski’s, and a resident told her to pull into the parking lot. The resident then met with the woman and noticed her impaired movement and the smell of alcohol. The resident escorted the woman into the store, then called her husband and police. Officers arrived and believed the woman was drunk. She told police she had “a little” to drink but later registered a .33 on blood-alcohol test. She was transported to Woodwinds Hospital because her blood-alcohol level was too high to take her to jail at the time.

A woman who was showering at Xperience Fitness screamed when she saw a man in the locker room. Police made contact with a man who fit the description. He is a cleaner and admitted to officers that he was in the room but didn’t think anyone was inside at the time. (The female cleaner has been injured and he has been cleaning the women’s locker room of late.) Police told the man he needs to announce himself when he goes into the women’s locker room, and advised him the woman was planning to file a complaint with management.

Workers at PDQ told police they noticed—on separate occasions—that the toilet seat in the bathroom had been moved, and the ceiling fan was removed and placed on the sink once and tampered with another time. Employees thought it was drug-related, but a K-9 sniff test of the room came back negative.

Police were called about a woman seen shoplifting at Victoria’s Secret, and after detaining her found theft tools in her purse. She was booked at the Washington County Jail pending a formal complaint.

Police told a woman that her ex-husband taking joint property from their home was a civil matter, not criminal. She was unhappy with the police response, and officers explained it to her again.

Nothing was found missing from a home after a woman called police when she came back from work and found her front door open.
