Woman Sentenced for Using Mother’s Credit Cards

Katie Lynn Ross was recently sentenced for using her mother's credit cards, which were kept beneath a mattress at a Woodbury home.

A 32-year-old woman must repay $442 and serve jail time after she rang up charges on her mother’s credit cards.

Katie Lynn Ross was recently convicted of credit card fraud after her mother reported that she had taken them from beneath her mattress and used them at area stores without her permission.

The mother, who lives in Woodbury, told in March 2011 that her credit card had been used at the Woodbury and at a hotel and other spots in Eagan, according to the criminal complaint.

She had been keeping the credit cards under her mattress and they went missing when her daughter, Ross, was staying with her, the complaint says.

The woman reported the incidents to police in June 2011, and when Ross was questioned by officers she admitted using the credit cards and added that she was being kicked out of the house and had deemed it an “emergency situation,” according to the complaint.
