Woodbury FD Puts Out Garage Fire

The fire broke out just before midnight on Feb. 23; no one was injured.

It took the about 20 minutes to put out a garage fire that started at a townhome just before midnight on Feb. 23.

No one was injured in the incident at the four-unit townhome on Cypress Drive in Woodbury, said Fire Capt. Chris Klein.

The fire originated in one of the townhome’s garages and caused significant smoke damage to that unit. Other townhomes sustained some smoke damage, as well, though it was mostly contained to the garages, Klein said.

It isn’t clear how the fire started, he said.

The residents were home at the time of the blaze, but they, along with their pets, escaped unharmed, Klein said.

“It was just a good job by the crews,” he said.

The fire brought in all available Woodbury Fire Department trucks, and the Oakdale Fire Department was called in case there was another incident at the same time, Klein said.
