Dubois was near the Norma Lane when a officer ran a random license plate check and found that Dubois’ license was suspended and he had an outstanding warrant.

The officer smelled the odor of burnt marijuana and detained Dubois, who also had a large sum of cash in his pocket. His son was with him at the time.

Police found several baggies, two pipes with marijuana residue, a large amount of marijuana, and a small bag of what later was determined to be cocaine.

Dubois told police he bought the drugs at a bar and paid $100 for the cocaine and $150 for the marijuana. He also told officers he enjoyed smoking weed and does so often, but seldom uses cocaine.
