Woodbury PD Blotter: May 12-17

Police recently responded to road rage, theft, a coyote sighting, feces in a bathroom at a city park and possible attempted burglaries.

The following information was obtained from recent police reports.

A man at the 300 block of Meadow Lane called police on May 12 to report that several vehicles in his neighborhood were rummaged through the night before. The vehicles were unlocked.

A automotive cooling system tester valued at more than $500 was reported stolen from a garage at the 6200 block of Garbe Avenue on May 12.

Police were called about a road rage incident near Interstate 94 and Keats Avenue South on May 12. The caller told police that the driver cut off a semi, slammed on his breaks in front of him and flipped him off. The call was transferred to the State Patrol.

A resident who lives on the 2700 block of Voyageur Drive came into the lobby of the Public Safety Department on May 13 to report that her dog had chased a rabbit off her property and got caught in an animal trap at a neighbor's home. Police contacted the owner of the home where the dog was caught and advised them of the city’s trapping ordinances.

Police were called about a reckless driver swerving in and out of traffic with the car's flashers on at Interstate 494 and I-94 on May 13. The offending motorist was driving a gray Toyota Camry. The call was transferred to the State Patrol.

A resident at the 7200 block of Military Road called police on May 13 to report that two bicycles had recently been stolen from the home.

A resident went into the Public Safety Department’s lobby on May 13 to report a coyote sighting near the Veterans Memorial at City Hall. Two coyote decoys have been placed in the area to deter geese. No live coyotes were found in the area.

A set of placemats valued at about $30 were reported stolen from the garage of a home at the 2600 block of Town Lake Drive on May 13. The woman told police she was concerned that people were out stealing from garage sales during the four-day Lions Club event.

Employees at the Valley Creek Apartments called police on May 13 after a man was yelling and swearing at them from his deck.

A number of power tools were reported stolen from a vehicle parked at Stepping Stones Early Learning Center on May 13.

A resident at the 7600 block of Newbury Road called police on May 13 to report a solicitor in the area. Police told the caller that the man works for a nonprofit, Working America, and does not need a permit.

A man took his $7 sandwich from the City Centre Subway on May 13 and left without paying for it.

A resident at the 2600 block of Mallard Drive called police on May 14 after a man in a black Tahoe had taken food left at the mailbox for a mail carriers’ food drive.

A coyote was spotted by a resident at the 8000 block of Boulder Ridge Road on May 14.

The patio door and front latch of a home at the 7800 block of Highpointe Road were damaged in an apparent attempted burglary. Police got the call on May 13; the incident happened the night before.

The front passenger-side window of a Toyota was broken and several items, including a purse with $305 in cash, were reported stolen on May 14. The vehicle was parked at the Woodbury YMCA.

Five fluorescent exterior light bulbs were reported stolen from a home at the 1600 block of Spinaker Drive on May 14. The caller told police that light bulbs had also been stolen from neighbors recently.

A resident at the 3800 block of Dakota Avenue was given a verbal warning about the city’s burning restrictions on May 15 after a neighbor called police to complain about a fire. The resident was told to obtain a burning permit, though the fire was out by the time police arrived.

A woman at the 10700 block of Falling Water Lane called police on May 15 to report that a neighbor was harassing her and her family about their dogs. The matter was about the dogs urinating on the grass. Officers talked with both parties about better ways to handle similar situations in the future.

A boy who left his bike outside Central Park while he went inside to get a drink of water on May 15 returned to find that it was stolen.

A resident at the 3600 block of Bailey Ridge Drive called police on May 16 to report eggs and golf balls had been thrown at his home, which was damaged, over the past two weekends.

Police on May 16 were asked to intervene in a situation in which two women were mutually harassing each other via Facebook.

A resident at the 1300 block of Cedarwood Court called police on May 17 after her neighbor’s cat was coming onto her property and neighbors’.

Change was reported stolen from a vehicle parked at the 6300 block of Edgewood Avenue on May 17.

While closing up Shawnee Park on May 17, police found what appeared to be human feces on the floor of the men’s bathroom.
