Woodbury PD Blotter: May 27-May 31

Police recently responded to a call about groping at Powers Lake, a puppy that fell from a second-story window and vandalism, among other calls.

The following information was obtained from recent police reports.

Police were called to a construction site on Waters Edge Lane after a resident complained that workers were blocking the road with their vehicles and dumping rocks onto the street. Police spoke with the site manager about the issue and he agreed to comply.

A resident at the 2800 block of Voyageur Drive called police on May 27 after someone threw water balloons at her home and vehicle sometime the night before. One of the water balloons had “sorry” written on it. The caller told police the incident was likely related to dispute with a neighbor.

A woman walking around Powers Lake on May 27 called police to report that a juvenile wearing a ski mask ran up behind her and grabbed her breasts. The suspect took off running and police checked the area but the culprit could not located.

A resident at the 7300 block of Steepleview Road called police on May 27 after an SUV nearly hit his wife while she was at the mailbox. Police could not locate the vehicle.

Police were called to an apartment complex at the 4300 block of Cobble Hill Alcove on May 28 after a resident thought someone had passed out and was laying on the horn of a vehicle. Police arrived to find that it was an electrical malfunction.

A water main apparently broke at the 1700 block of Lamplight Drive on May 28 and flooded a yard. Police referred the matter to the city’s Public Works Department.

Police busted a juvenile for smoking a joint in the parking lot of Ojibway Park on May 28. The teen’s parents were contacted and he was given a citation.

A husky puppy fell from the second-story window of an apartment at the 2199 block of Vining Drive on May 29. The dog had been hanging from the window when neighbors got a ladder and tried to retrieve the animal, but it fell to the ground and was injured. Neighbors told police they would transport the dog to a local animal hospital. Police found a broken window screen and it was unclear why the dog tried to jump through the window.

A home at the 8800 block of Sequoia Court was egged on May 28. The caller told police on May 29 that similar incidents have been happening on recent Saturday nights.

A number of items were strewn about the lawn of a home at the 700 block of Landau Drive during the overnight hours of May 29-30. Among the items: pink disposable razors, tampons, sanitary napkins, rubber bands, Post-it notes, Q-tips, toilet paper, silly string and a pillow case.  

The State Patrol called the Woodbury Police Department for assistance on May 30 after a trooper conducted a traffic stop and learned that a man had a revolver in his vehicle.

A cash box with $432 in it was stolen from the business area of a home at the 9600 block of Hudson Road on May 29.

A vehicle was reported stolen from the 10100 block of City Walk Drive on May 31.

Police were called to a construction site near Middleton Trail and Tanner Road on May 31 after someone threw paint on a bulldozer.

A woman stopped into the Public Safety Department on May 31 after finding that her wallet was missing. She told police she suspected it happened while she was at the Collectors Gallery in Tamarack Village.

A woman who was sunbathing in her backyard at the 1700 block of Bowsens Lane called police on May 31 after a male solicitor came onto her property and asked for a drink of water and to use her bathroom and told her she had a nice tan. Police found the man and contacted his supervisor, who told authorities he would not be allowed to solicit the company’s services in Woodbury anymore based on his actions.

A bicycle was reported stolen from Central Park on May 31. The bike was not locked up.

Police were called about a dispute between two motorists May 31. A woman said a man was tailgating her, swerved around her, followed her to her apartment complex, gave her the finger and took a photo of her vehicle. The other driver, a man, told police she had cut him off and followed her to confront her but left the area instead.
