Woodbury Police Nab Suspects in Laptop Theft at Central Park

The victim gave chase, a witness told Patch.

Woodbury police on Tuesday were able to return a man’s stolen laptop after thieves snatched it from the desk where he was working at Central Park.

The theft happened at about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, according to police spokeswoman Michelle Okada.

Three men came up to the victim, who was working at a table near the east entrance of Central Park.

“Right in broad daylight they grabbed the laptop and ran out the door,” Okada said.

A witness told Patch that the victim chased the thieves.

About two hours after the theft, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle, which matched the description of the car in which the alleged perpetrators fled, Okada said.

Two witnesses had given police a good description of the car, she said, and Central Park staff also provided police with information.

The three men in the car matched surveillance footage from Central Park, and they were arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail, Okada said.
