The trailer that the Woodbury VFW uses to collect cans for scholarships for high school students has been stolen, according to Bob Fritsche, commander of Post 9024.

“They cut the chain and took the trailer,” he said.
The money from the cans is used for the Ken Fritsche Sr. College Memorial Fund, which each year provides $1,000 scholarships to two Woodbury High School seniors going on to higher education.
Fritsche said he noticed the trailer was missing over the weekend and contacted police Monday, Aug. 19.
The Cans for College trailer has been stationed at the Valley Creek Mall parking lot since 2003, Fritsche told Patch. The fund was set up as a way to recognize his father after he died.
There had been talk of adding a second trailer because of the popularity of the program, Fritsche said.
If anyone in Woodbury has a trailer they would like to donate to the VFW, call Fritsche at 651-261-1300.
