Woodbury Woman Faces Felony Charges For Check Fraud

The money was allegedly used for gambling.

A Woodbury woman was hit with three felony charges after authorities say she was involved in a fraudulent check scheme that she used for gambling.

Khanh Mai Dang, 29, deposited several fraudulent checks totaling $22,799 into a Ly Sandwich and Bakery account between Feb. 1, 2011, and March 8, 2011, according to a Dakota County criminal complaint filed Feb. 17.

During that time period, Dang allegedly withdrew $33,288 from the Ly Sandwich and Bakery account at various casinos and gambling establishments, the complaint says. The case was investigated by the West St. Paul Police Department; Dang was arrested Feb. 6.

If convicted on all counts, Dang faces up to 25 years in prison and $50,000 in fines.
