College Grads, Scholars From Woodbury

Luther

Five students from Woodbury made the fall 2011 dean’s list at Luther College in Iowa. They are:

  • Junior Jessica Ulrich
  • Sophomore Peter Storvick
  • Junior Amanda Rudnickas
  • Junior Kathleen Towell
  • Junior Jana Sorensen

Creighton

Alex Verhoye, of Woodbury, a Creighton University arts and sciences junior, received the Rev. Tom Schloemer, S.J., Outstanding Student Leader Award from Omicron Delta Kappa on Feb. 6 during the University's Founders Week Leadership Recognition Awards Ceremony.

This award recognizes students who have “displayed exceptional leadership abilities, integrity, initiative, and service,” according to a release. “Omicron Delta Kappa places an emphasis on honoring students who are ‘behind-the-scenes’ leaders, contributing their time and talents unselfishly in many different settings, without the desire for recognition.”

Daniel Delaney, of Woodbury, a Creighton University College of Arts and Sciences junior, was inducted into the student chapter of the Jesuit Honor Society Alpha Sigma Nu at its annual ceremony Feb. 19, in the Harper Center Hixson-Lied Auditorium.

Nebraska

Zachary Daniel Moore, of Woodbury, has been named to the dean’s list/honor roll at the University of Nebraska for the fall semester of 2011. Moore is a sophomore finance major in the College of Business Administration.

Concordia

Several students from Woodbury made the fall 2011 dean’s list at Concordia University, St. Paul (GPA 3.5 or better). They are:

  • Alison Creeger, freshman
  • Gretchen Koeritzer, sophomore
  • Kelsey Dunlevy, senior
  • Rebecca Hazard, junior
  • Callie McLaughlin, freshman
  • Joshua Osmundson, junior
  • Danessa Snustad, senior
  • Michael Willett, junior

Three students from Woodbury were recently admitted to Concordia University, St. Paul.

Brittnii Hodge, a student at , was awarded the Concordia Opportunity grant for the fall 2012 semester. This achievement provides a total of $4,000 in funds.

Valentin Huerta, a student at , was awarded the Concordia Opportunity grant for the fall 2012 semester. This achievement provides a total of $4,000 in funds.

Teona Rae Zepeda, a student at Hill-Murray, was awarded the Presidents scholarship for the fall 2012 semester. This achievement provides a total of $12,000 in funds.

Buffalo State

Lizz Cavaleri, of Woodbury, has been named to the School of the Professions fall 2011 dean's list at Buffalo State College. Cavaleri, a graduate of the , is the daughter of Carol Ritacca and Mark Cavaleri.

Kansas

Katherine Elizabeth Benson (junior, pre-nursing) and Joseph Patrick Morgan (junior, architecture, both of Woodbury, made the fall 2011 semester honor roll at the University of Kansas.

Taylor U

Katelyn Moore, of Woodbury, was named to the fall 2011 dean's list (GPA 3.6 or better) at Taylor University.
