Free business start-up classes

A series of free business start-up classes are scheduled at the R.H. Stafford Branch of the Washington County Library, starting at the end of February, and running for five sessions.

The program offerings are:

  • Business Startup 101, 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25. This “business orientation” course is an introduction to the fundamentals of owning and operating your own business.
  • How to Write a Business Plan, 10 a.m. Saturday, March 10. Learn to design the plan that will secure funding and provide a roadmap to your new business’ first year.
  • How to Finance Your Business, 10 a.m. Saturday, March 17. Locate potential investors for your new business, featuring multiple local funding resources.
  • Creative Marketing Techniques, 10 a.m. Saturday, March 24. Learn how to create buzz locally and online for your business.
  • LinkedIn Brand Building, Saturday, 10 a.m. Saturday, March 31. Learn to use LinkedIn to brand and expand your business presence.

Instructors for the classes are from the Neighborhood Development Center and WomenVenture. Registration is required. Participants may sign up online using the Library’s Events Calendar at www.co.washington.mn.us/library; in person at the Info Desk; or by telephone at 651-731-1320.
