The Washington County Historical Society is excited to announce that Doug Ohman, photographer, will be the guest speaker at their annual meeting at Boutwells Landing on Thursday, March 22, 2012, in the Town Hall.
Ohman, who has been the photographer on the Minnesota Historical Society’s By ways series that included Barns of Minnesota, Schoolhouses of Minnesota and Cabins of Minnesota, has again taken some of the best views of Minnesota’s unique and beautiful libraries.
The book is a rich exhibition of Minnesota’s beloved libraries, with stunning photographs by the popular Doug Ohman and library stories by seven of Minnesota’s best-known writers of books for children and young adults.
This book is a cooperative project of the Council of Regional Public Library System Administrators and the Minnesota Historical Society Press. It was funded in part with money from the vote of the people of Minnesota on November 4, 2008, which dedicated funding to preserve Minnesota's arts and cultural heritage.

The event is open to the public and the cost is $20 for WCHS members and $25 for nonmembers.
The evening will begin at 5:30 with a social hour, dinner at 6:30 and the business. Meeting will be at 7:30. Ohman’s program will begin at 8 p.m. Books will be available at the event for purchase.
