Library Volunteers Gather For Recognition In Woodbury

Chad Lubbers, manager of the Woodbury library, says library got more than 4,700 hours of work from volunteers in 2010, which translates to more than $100,000 in value.

Washington County Library volunteers were honored May 21 with a lunch and certificates of appreciation at an event at the .

Those who were honored at the event were Sandy Wahlberg, Carolyn Bradley, Theresa Vasquez, Beth Fretland, Krista Martin, Joan Nicolai, Judy Koster, Bernie Wilke, Sue Bauer, Luba Khazanovich, Russ Wivell, Phyllis Anderson, Aretta Rice, Erin Sanislo, Lori Rosemark, Pam Bailey, Abi Phillips, Clare Nelson, Vicky Woodward, Mikayla Dalton, Christina Berg, Stephanie Jones, Carol Pribnow and MacKinzy Thomas.

A special guest at the event was Jade, a therapy dog who is part of the "Read to A Dog" program that allows children to read to a dog, which can help improve their reading skills.
